This album doesn’t just make music— it builds sonic landscapes that punch you in the chest and pull you into a journey. Whether you’re headbanging in the car or diving deep into the layers of Shotnyea's production, one thing is certain: this artist is a force in the hard rock world, and he’s doing it all on his own. His sound is unmistakably his own, yet fans of Godsmack and Skillet will feel right at home in the firestorm of riffs and intensity he delivers. A couple of songs are a little different from his previous album, as he experiments with piano on the emotionally driven track Time Flies and explores a more reflective, softer rock feel on Last Summer. These moments of contrast add depth and dynamic range to the album, showing that his creativity knows no bounds. Shotnyea executed with the kind of precision that only comes from someone who lives and breathes every note.
Tim Lyons report on the “Pardon My Confusion” Album release:

For me the highlights on this record are: "Show Me Your Lies" which showcases an incredible vocal range (nice work Den), "Sucker Punch" is great for the gym that highlights different textures and a driving beat that tantalizes the ear (sounds great in the Ear Buds!), "Shake and Bake" is a fist-pumping, driving tune reminiscent of Godsmack and a little LINKIN PARK, and the title track "Pardon My Confusion" can easily come off a Creed record from the 90's. Give the whole thing a listen! His influences come through on all songs. It’s a mixture of Rush, Godsmack, Creed, and many others. You can find it on Apple, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, and Tik Tok. Torn to Pieces was written about our struggles with good and evil during the pandemic. With the height of social media control over the news, it's hard to figure out what is someone's truth and what is a fact. The song uses hyperbolic themes to describe angels and demons talking in our heads behind a locked door. To be brave and protect our souls, we must knock the door down and tell both to be quite and take back our reigns and common sense. His specialty is songwriting and audio engineering all parts of his music.

Album Review: Genetic Drift – A Progressive Rock Instrumental in Power and Precision
Genetic Drift is not just an album—it’s an immersive experience. A bold, instrumental voyage through the landscape of progressive rock, this project is a masterclass in musical storytelling without a single lyric. It’s cinematic, powerful, and emotionally charged, guiding listeners through a dynamic range of soundscapes that feel both expansive and deeply personal.
From the first note, it’s clear that Genetic Drift is crafted with intent. The compositions are intricate yet accessible, blending complex time signatures, soaring guitar solos, and atmospheric textures with jaw-dropping precision. Every track flows into the next with a seamless sense of direction, pulling you deeper into the artist’s world with each movement.
While rooted in the traditions of progressive rock, the album confidently branches into new territory—pulling from metal, ambient, and even orchestral influences to create a sound that’s both fresh and timeless. Each piece feels like a chapter in a larger story, building tension, releasing emotion, and exploring themes of change, evolution, and inner discovery.
What truly sets Genetic Drift apart is its sense of momentum. It doesn’t just meander through musical ideas—it moves. There’s a pulse, a rhythm of transformation in every track, as if the album itself is evolving. This isn’t background music—it demands your attention, and rewards it with depth and complexity that only reveals itself more with each listen.
Genetic Drift is a triumph of instrumental storytelling, showcasing not only technical prowess but a deep emotional core. For fans of progressive rock and anyone who craves a sonic journey that’s as powerful as it is precise, this album is essential listening.
This is more than music. It’s movement. It’s evolution. It’s Genetic Drift.
